The Fontenay is one of the newer accomplishments within the top league hotels in Hamburg and it's not only perfectly located alongside the "Alster", it is certainly also a very impressive hotel in itself. Without any doubts the location is one of the highlights. It feels a bit like being outside the city but in reality it's just a 10 min walk along the Alster and you reach Hamburg city center and the most popular shopping streets of town. The hotel is offering the best in class service and even if something isn't exactly perfect at your arrival they will find the right solution quickly. One of the things you need to do is having a drink on the roof top bar and enjoying the amazing view over Hamburg! The hotel also has an amazing restaurant awarded with 2 Michelin Stars. If you're looking for a special place to stay, consider Fontenay!

Nice place to be. Since we live in Hamburg, we always stop by for a cup of coffee, a piece of delicious cake or a cocktail. Can't wait to try out the SPA! I love being here. Yes, it's very expensive. But the location, the quality, the place itself is so worth it. We had a raspberry cake this day, some glasses of champagne - the best! In the evening we drank nice cocktails to the sound of a live piano.

There really are no words to describe the level of service at this property. Jan Riepen, the Property Manager/Chief Concierge, made our stay the most comfortable and memorable ever! Jan and The Fontenay staff are extremely attentive and intuitive, attending to every last detail while maintaining an almost invisible presence. The hotel is well located, the rooms are lovely and the restaurant has a nice menu with the option of outdoor seating. The rooftop bar should not be missed with it's great music and stunning views! If you are going to be in the Hamburg area, this is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere, in elegant luxury. Be sure Jan and Nina are there when you go, they are simply the best!!

Superb service, excellent food, great ambiance, and a stunning location. If you want to stay at a luxury hotel, you want to stay at the Fontenay. I’m not exaggerating when I tell you this place is worth it. I used to stay more often, until I found my apartment around the corner. Now I still find myself there for the food, and ambiance. The garden restaurant is amazing, again, (most of) the staff is incredibly friendly and they understand how to make a guest feel welcome and appreciated. I had the lobster soup and some Laurent Perrier Pink Champagne 🥂- Delicious. I highly recommend the hotel and the food. Go check it out for yourself.
